Crazy Rich Asians had a stellar second weekend at the box office with almost no dropoff in ticket sales. It’s a stunning performance for a non-holiday weekend movie, which has left analysts searching for precedents. The adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel, starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding, held its top spot and slid just 6 percent from its debut. The first Hollywood studio movie in 25 years with an all-Asian cast has now grossed $76.8 million. “I’ve been telling my team that Bigfoot sightings are more common than 0 percent Saturday drops,” Jeff Goldstein, distribution chief for Warner Bros., told the Associated Press, noting that the movie’s audience is also broadening, as the Asian-American audience percentage fell from 44 percent to 27 percent.
