Rescue workers in Spain began digging a tunnel Tuesday in a desperate effort to reach a 2-year-old boy who fell down a well on Sunday. Crews managed to send a robotic camera into the 360-foot-deep hole, but it only made it 229 feet below the surface, finding candies but no sign of toddler Yulen Garcia, NBC News reported. Emergency workers are trying to widen the opening to allow the camera to go deeper while at the same time digging a horizontal tunnel that would intersect with the well. Yulen’s parents, who reportedly lost an older son to a congenital heart condition, have been camped out at the site in Totalán, waiting for signs of life.
