Charlie Crist doesn’t exactly agree with his past party’s presidential nominees. The former Republican Governor of Florida--who is now a registered independent--described the Republican primary so far as “pretty nasty” and said he would consider voting for Obama in the fall. “I really think he’s sincere and genuine. I think we have a lot of time, a lot of issues to talk about, but i think, in his heart, he’s trying to do what’s right for the country overall,” he said on MSNBC Tuesday. Crist can relate to Obama’s mission of unifying government but suggests that such an attempt could be political suicide. “Certainly it seems to be in the Republican party, where the word ‘compromise’ has almost become a dirty word.”
