Addressing more that 3,000 business leaders at Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke for the first time publicly about the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. MBS, taking no responsibility for the slaying, called the killing “a heinous crime” that was “really painful to all Saudis” and to “every human being in the world.” He went on to accuse critics of using the situation to “drive a wedge” between Saudi Arabia and Turkey, something he claims will not happen so long as his father is king and he is crown prince. The crown prince insisted the country is doing everything in its power to fully investigate the slaying.
