New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday said the state’s attorney general, Eric Schneiderman, should resign after allegations of physical abuse surfaced. “No one is above the law, including New York’s top legal officer,” Cuomo said, adding that he ordered an investigation into the matter. He said that Schneiderman should resign “for the good of the office.” The New Yorker reported earlier Monday that four women are accusing Schneiderman of beating and choking them, in addition to making threats.
