Heather Dietrick, who has been the CEO of The Daily Beast for the last six years, is leaving the company at the end of the year to become the chief media officer of Outside Inc., the outdoor-lifestyle publisher. Dietrick, a First Amendment lawyer, joined the Beast in 2017 from Gizmodo Media Group. In her new role, she will oversee operations and staff of Outside’s media brands.
