During a set at the Laugh Factory, the comedian made an arguably too-soon joke about the shooting in Colorado, essentially cracking that The Dark Knight Rises was so bad that an audience member wished someone would shoot him. Following the fierce backlash that ensued, Cook issued an apology on Twitter Friday evening: “I made a bad judgment call with my material last night & regret making a joke at such a sensitive time.”
