A Danish politician didn’t mince words when addressing President Donald Trump over his Greenland desires. Anders Vistisen, of the right-wing Patriots for Europe party, took to the podium at Strasbourg’s European parliament on Tuesday and addressed the new U.S. president’s designs on taking over the Danish territory. “Dear President Trump, listen very carefully. Greenland has been part of the Danish kingdom for 800 years,“ he said, relatively reasonably. ”It’s an integrated part of our country. It is not for sale,” he added, slightly more curtly. Then, with his anger growing, he barked: “Let me put it in words you might understand. Mr. Trump, f--- off.” Vistisen was admonished by Nicolae Stefanuta, vice president of the European Parliament who said there would be “consequences” for his language. “It’s not OK in this house of democracy. Regardless of what we think about Mr. Trump, it is not possible to use such language.” Vistisen shared a clip of his sweary rant on X, adding: “Any true patriot should understand that this is an unacceptable attack on national sovereignty!”
Greenland is not for sale. Greenland has been part of Denmark for 800 years, more then double of the time the US has existed.
