The daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman is reportedly working as an intern for a far-right French member of the European Parliament. According to The Telegraph, Elizaveta Peskova—daughter of Dmitry Peskov—is a “trainee assistant” to Aymeric Chauprade, who formerly was a “close adviser” to French far-right figure Marine La Pen before joining the European Parliament. Peskova—who is studying law and international relations in France—is said to have access to “all European Parliament documents,” including “sensitive” documents regarding foreign policy and trade and the “full range of draft legislation.” A source told the paper it was common for MEPs to choose people from outside the EU and said assistants don't undergo security screenings. According to the newspaper, Chauprade, who confirmed that Peskova is a “trainee,” is currently the vice president of Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group—which is led by former U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage.
