Clinton ally David Brock is building an A-team of wealthy donors to finance attacks on President-elect Donald Trump and rehabilitate the political left after the real-estate mogul’s devastating election victory. According to Politico, Brock sent out emails to more than 200 top donors Thursday night to recruit them for his plan, inviting big names like George Soros, Tom Steyer and Donald Sussman to Palm Beach over inauguration weekend. Brock said the agenda for the weekend retreat would include assessing what Democrats did wrong, figuring out ways to fix it, and raising cash to rebound and take on Trump. “This will be THE gathering for Democratic donors from across the country to hear from a broad and diverse group of leaders about the next steps for progressives under a Trump administration,” Brock wrote in the email. “What better way to spend inaugural weekend than talking about how to kick Donald Trump’s ass?” he said. The retreat is expected to be the first in a series of regular meetings.
