A woman accused celebrity magician David Copperfield on Wednesday of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 1988, when she was just 17 years old. Brittney Lewis says the alleged incident occurred after a modeling contest for which Copperfield served as a judge. Lewis told The Wrap that she “blacked out” and Copperfield took off her clothes. “He was kissing my face and then I remember him starting to go down on my body with his face, and then, as soon as he started going down, I just completely blacked out,” she said. Copperfield responded to the allegation on Wednesday by calling the #MeToo movement “crucial and long overdue,” adding that people shouldn’t “rush to judgment.”
