Disney star Demi Lovato, 18, has quit her international tour with the Jonas Brothers and checked into a treatment center to seek help for “emotional and physical issues.” In a statement, her rep told TMZ that the young actress, known for her role in Disney’s Camp Rock and the series, Sonny With a Chance, “has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help.” A source close to Lovato’s family told People magazine, “She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting,” and also confirmed that Lovato’s physical fight with a dancer prompted her to seek treatment. But perhaps this was a long time coming—the singer and actress has acknowledged her body image issues before and her struggles with bullying both in school and online. Lovato also shut down her Twitter account over the weekend, after she reportedly posted a “joke tweet” saying she was engaged. People magazine’s inside source added that Lovato “doesn’t have the same kind of love for life that she at one point had.”
