Looks like the wimpy kids landed a real sucker punch this weekend: The second installment, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, won the weekend box office, bringing in $24.4 million in ticket sales. There’s even better news for the 20th Century Fox, the studio behind Wimpy Kid: The film could mean big success for future Wimpy Kid projects—the films are based off the bestselling children’s series with five books in it so far. Things were not so bright for Sucker Punch as it only took in $19 million—disappointing because it had director Zack Snyder’s name behind it and because the action movie cost some $80 million to make. Limitless, Lincoln Lawyer, and Rango rounded out the top five for the weekend.
