Rep. Steve Scalise remains in critical condition and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit after being shot in the hip Wednesday morning, doctors said Friday. "When he arrived, he was in critical condition with an imminent risk of death," Dr. Jack Sava, director of trauma at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, said at a press conference. "He will certainly be in the hospital for a considerable period of time, presumably weeks." Scalise was in shock by the time he arrived at the hospital. Doctors stopped internal bleeding, but he remains in critical condition. Matt Mika, a lobbyist shot in the chest, is "starting to show his feistiness again," said Rep. Tim Wahlberg, his former boss.
