Donna Brazile, the former interim chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee and a longtime party strategist, is joining Fox News as a contributor. Brazile, who lost her job as a CNN contributor after reportedly leaking a debate question to then-candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016, said in a statement that she was “delighted” to be joining the network. “I know I’m going to get criticized by my friends in the progressive movement for being on Fox News,”she wrote. “My response is that, if we’ve learned anything from the 2016 election, it is that we can’t have a country where we don’t talk to those who disagree with our political views. We have to engage that audience and show Americans of every stripe what we stand for rather than retreat into our ‘safe spaces’ where we simply agree with each other.” Brazile added that “you can be darn sure that I’m still going to be me.” A person with knowledge of the hiring emphasized that Brazile would not be involved with any presidential debates or town halls.
