Drew Barrymore has addressed her infamously-awkward interview with Martha Stewart on her show, claiming that the country’s most famous homemaker was joking when she pushed her away for getting too close. Barrymore, 49, insisted in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Wednesday that Stewart “really does like me.” The Drew Barrymore Show host said that Stewart was only joking during the appearance in November when she told the former child star, “You’re the wrong gender,” and pushed her away as Barrymore was touching her arm and back. The former child star is known for being touchy with her guests in interviews. She once sat on Natasha Lyonne’s lap. She also held Oprah’s hand on her talk show in December 2024, which some called “cringey.” However, Barrymore says she has not taken others' advice to “back off a little bit” in her interviews.
