DU/ER’s Newest Denim Is the Best Looking Weatherproof Jean I’ve Ever Worn

STYLE X FUNCTION

They withstand wind, rain, and darkness with a technical membrane and reflective capabilities throughout.

When the weather is acting up, weatherproof attire is a no-brainer — and DU/ER’s new weatherproof denim not only keeps the weather out, it keeps comfort and style in.

Since there was no foreseeable rain for some time after DU/ER sent me a pair to try out, I kindly asked my partner to pour water on them. She jumped at the opportunity, of course, and we both enjoyed the superhero-suit-like reaction the denim had. It not only kept the water away from my leg underneath but also looked just as conspicuously stylish as it had before. That’s the true value of DU/ER’s latest, which the company considers it “most technical pant”: a combination of deep and dark denim style with the weatherproof and windproof capabilities of work-only pants.

On top of all that, the breathable membrane feels, well, good. I didn’t feel for a moment like I was wearing anything but normal denim. And if it gets cold where you live, this denim will keep you warm as it’s designed for winter and anyone commuting in less than great weather conditions.

Those who fold their pant leg up (read: those with fashion sense) will find great value in the reflective nature of these jeans: a reflective patch at the waist as well as under the cuff. This makes the jeans great for any low light visibility and especially for the night-time explorer — looking at you, cyclists.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, these jeans look really good, and that’s the first barrier for me when it comes to technical pants (unless I need them purely for work). The DU/ER Weatherproof Denim is really onto something here and I expect to see it all over the city soon. Try some out if the function is as important to you as the style.
