The woman who lied about being raped by three Duke University lacrosse players was convicted on Friday of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend. 34-year-old Crystal Mangum was sentenced to 14 to 18 years in prison for killing 46-year-old Reginald Daye in April 2011. In 2006, Mangum falsely accused three Duke lacrosse players of gang-raping her in 2006 at a party where she was hired as a stripper. The three players were arrested, their coach resigned and the university suspended the football program for the remainder of the season, but they were eventually declared innocent by North Carolina’s attorney general after Mangum’s story fell apart.
