A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Oukaïmedene, Morocco, on Friday night, leaving at least 296 people dead, according to the country's Interior Ministry. Another 153 people were injured. The quake damaged a number of historic buildings in Marrakech and sent residents flooding into the streets, AP reported. It was reportedly felt as far away as Portugal.
