Ed Henry is trading in his position as CNN's senior White House correspondent to be the chief White House correspondent for Fox News. Henry will replace Wendell Goler and Mike Emanuel, who currently share the title and are both expected to get promotions. While at CNN, Henry was honored with the White House Correspondents' Association's Merriman Smith Award for his superior coverage under deadline of President Bush in 2008. Henry is the second major CNN personality to leave the broadcast network for Fox News since January. He wrote in an email to CNN staff that the move was "bittersweet," but that he was "absolutely thrilled" about his new position at Fox News.
