Infamous drug lord Joaquin Guzman, otherwise known as El Chapo, arrived in New York late Thursday night after he was extradited from Mexico. Guzman will appear in federal court in Brooklyn on Friday. In six separate indictments, he is accused of being connected to efforts to bring billions of dollars of drugs into the United States. Authorities will close the Brooklyn Bridge while Guzman is being transported from a Manhattan jail to the court building. CNN reported that Mexican officials wanted to turn over Guzman just as the incoming president, Donald Trump, was being sworn in.
