An elderly couple in Florida has been bombarded with death threats and even a menacing visit from an XXXTentacion fan after social media rumors falsely linked them to the rapper’s killing. Police in Cape Coral have been guarding the couple’s home after a 20-year-old man showed up earlier this week posing as a pizza delivery man. The man, identified by police as Jesse Gonzalez, was arrested after reportedly frightening residents with his declarations that he was there to confront the person “who killed his friend.” Police say an Instagram post that falsely claims XXXTentacion’s killer resides in Cape Coral is to blame for the threats. Laurie Bernard, whose home address has been circulating on social media as that of XXXTentacion’s alleged killer, told local media she’s been rattled by all the threats but has no plans to leave. “I refuse to be forced out of my house because of people who threaten me. If they were smart enough to get the address, look at our ages—73 and 76. We can walk, [but] that’s about it. We’re not going out to try and kill anybody,” she told WINK News on Wednesday.
