Elon Musk on Tuesday finally denounced supporters who make threats or use racist or misogynistic slurs against critics of the tech billionaire. “At risk of stating the extremely obvious, I am against threats of violence & abusive epithets in any forum. Please do not use them in my name or at all,” he tweeted after several days of heated back-and-forth with journalists over his bizarre criticisms of media. Musk’s denunciation came after reporters complained of being verbally harassed on Twitter after he directly attacked them. “Female journalists who cover Elon Musk have the same personal rule: Mention his name on Twitter at your peril,” Erin Biba wrote for The Daily Beast. “When female journalists like me dare to question the SpaceX and Tesla founder, there’s a predictable result: We get called bitches, idiots, and worse.”
