The Emoji Movie has won recognition as the worst movie of 2017 at the Golden Raspberry awards, otherwise known as the Razzies. Describing the film as a “talking poop opus,” Razzies organizers also gave the animated movie awards for worst screenplay, worst director, and worst screen combo, a title to be bestowed upon “any two obnoxious emojis” featured in the film. The annual Razzies ceremony, held Saturday as Hollywood prepares for Sunday's Academy Awards, singled out Tom Cruise as the worst actor of 2017 for his role in the reboot of The Mummy. Tyler Perry was named worst actress for his portrayal of an old woman in Boo 2! A Madea Halloween.
