Terrence Howard voiced support of fellow “Empire” star Jussie Smollett following allegations that he faked a hate crime, posting an Instagram video of the embattled actor with the caption “All your lil homies got you.” Howard plays Smollett’s father on the Fox series, which dramatizes a family hip-hop dynasty; the two have an oft-contentious relationship on the show. On Saturday night, Howard uploaded a video to Instagram that portrays a beaming Smollett holding a happy baby. “All your lil homies got you... We love the hell outta you,” the post states. CNN also noted that when a commenter criticized Smollett, Howard replied: “The Jussie I know could never even conceive of something so unconscious and ugly. His innocence or judgment is not for any of us to decide. Stay in your lane and my lane is empathy and love and compassion for someone I've called my son for five years. It's God’s job to judge and it’s ours to love and hope, especially for those that we claim to have loved.” Smollett faces a felony disorderly conduct charge for the allegedly phony hate crime. Cops claimed he staged the incident over dissatisfaction with his salary.
