Former White House chef Walter Scheib has gone missing in New Mexico’s Taos Mountains. He is believed to have disappeared on Saturday, but no one knew until Monday when he failed to show up to meet his girlfriend. Searchers have fanned out across trails in the area but are concerned because they do not believe he was prepared to spend more than a few hours in the wilderness. Scheib, who was White House chef from 1994 until 2005, has written a White House cookbook and appeared on reality cooking shows, including Iron Chef.
