Police in Ohio have killed 30 exotic animals after 48 of the creatures—including lions, cheetahs, bears, and wolves—escaped from a private zoo. So far, there have been no injuries to the public, but four school districts canceled classes Wednesday as the remaining animals are hunted down. Terry Thompson, the owner of the animals, was found dead, having opened all the animals’ cages. While police haven’t said how he died, but Zanesville Mayor Howard Zwelling said Thompson shot himself after freeing the animals. Some other animals that he kept, like chimpanzees and orangutans, were still in their cages.
