CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the social network will be launching a dating feature during his speech at the Facebook developer conference on Tuesday, according to CNBC. “This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships—not just hook-ups,” he said. The feature will reportedly “match users specifically with people they aren't already friends with” and will allow users to build dating profiles “which friends won't be able to see.” The service will primarily center around institutions, groups, and events, mirroring “the way people actually date,” CPO Chris Cox said. Users will be able to communicate through a private messaging service that is separate from WhatsApp and Messenger.
