Facebook announced a new app for the iPhone and the iPod Touch called Facebook Camera. The app, which will include photo-editing tools and 15 different types of filters, is intended to make it easier to share photos on Facebook. “We can basically show you more photos on the app, so we can make a more immersive experience around your photos. On the side of publishing these photos, Facebook Camera lets you upload much higher resolution photos—up to 2,048 by 2,048 pixels wide,” a product manager said. The news was surprising to some, since Facebook recently acquired Instagram, the popular social photo app, which has 40 million users.
