Facebook upped the number of users who may have been impacted by the Cambridge Analytica data scandal from 50 million to 87 million, according to a statement released Wednesday afternoon. “In total, we believe the Facebook information of up to 87 million people—mostly in the US—may have been improperly shared with Cambridge Analytica,” the statement read. The company also announced changes that will “better protect” user information on the platform—and said it will “tell people if their information may have been improperly shared with Cambridge Analytica.” On Wednesday morning, it was announced that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will testify before Congress on April 11.
