Terry Pratchett, renowned author of the fantasy novel series Discworld, has died at 66, his publisher said. Publishers Transworld Managing Director Larry Finlay said the author died “with his cat sleeping on his bed, surrounded by his family” on Thursday. Pratchett suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. “All who read him know, Discworld was his vehicle to satirize this world: He did so brilliantly, with great skill, enormous humor, and constant invention,” Finlay said.
