The FBI raided the office and residence of President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen, The New York Times reported Monday. According to the newspaper, feds seized records related to his reported $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence about an alleged Trump tryst. “Federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained the search warrant after receiving a referral from the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III,” the Times reported. “The search does not appear to be directly related to Mr. Mueller’s investigation, but likely resulted from information he had uncovered and gave to prosecutors in New York.” Cohen’s hush payment to Daniels was reportedly not the only issue the feds sought to investigate, per the Times: “The F.B.I. also seized emails, tax documents and business records,” one source familiar with the raid told the paper.
