Bowing to pressure from House Republicans, the FBI has announced it will double the number of staffers in charge of fulfilling GOP requests for documents related to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server. “Up until today, we have dedicated 27 FBI staff to review the records,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a statement. That number will be boosted to 54 after House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) threatened to subpoena the Justice Department over “ongoing delays” in the requests. “The actual number of documents responsive to this request is likely in the thousands. Regardless, I agree that the current pace of production is too slow,” Wray said on Tuesday. The move comes as House Republicans accuse Justice Department and FBI officials of devoting too many resources to the Trump-Russia investigation while mishandling the Clinton investigation.
