Federal Communications Commission chairman Tom Wheeler doesn’t want to listen to fellow passengers’ annoying phone calls any more than you do. In a statement on Friday, Wheeler said that he personally isn’t in favor of the proposal to allow in-flight phone calls, but there is “no technical reason to prohibit” them. The decision, he said, ultimately rests with the airlines. Most airlines have said that they will weigh the issue and survey customers, but Delta Air Lines has already rejected the proposal.
