Employees at federal agencies have been ordered to remove their pronouns from their email signatures by Friday afternoon in an effort to follow President Donald Trump’s new anti-woke policies, according to a report. The internal memos, which were obtained by ABC News, cited two Trump executive orders that intend to roll back DEI initiatives in the federal government, the outlet reported. One message sent to employees at the Center for Disease Control, from Chief Information Officer Jason Bonander, read, “Pronouns and any other information not permitted in the policy must be removed from CDC/ATSDR employee signatures by 5.p.m. ET on Friday.” Similar messages were received by staff at the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy, according to ABC. It’s not clear if other agencies received the same order. The revelation was praised by MAGA media personality Charlie Kirk, who posted a screenshot of ABC’s story, with the caption, “‘Preferred pronouns‘ in the federal government are now was/were.” One of Trump’s executive orders, signed on his first day in office, called for an end to “radical and wasteful DEI programs” in the federal government.
