A federal judge in California issued an injunction Monday against the Trump administration’s policy requiring asylum seekers to wait for their immigration court hearings in Mexico, The Washington Post reports. U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg reportedly ruled that the administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols must cease by the end of this week and that the 11 plaintiffs in the lawsuit must be allowed into the country starting on Sunday. While the migrants will be allowed into the country, Reuters reports Judge Seeborg retained the government’s right to detain the asylum seekers in the U.S. while they wait for their immigration court rulings.
