Ferguson’s Police Chief Resigns

BULLY

After running “collection agency.”

Ferguson Chief of Police Tom Jackson told the St. Louis Post Dispatch he resigned at 2:45 local time Wednesday. The resignation comes a week to the day after the Justice Department blasted his force for running a “collection agency” that routinely violated the civil rights of blacks for profit in the Missouri city. Jackson was criticized earlier for how his department initially handled protests in response to the killing of Michael Brown by Officer Darren Wilson. Ferguson’s municipal judge and city manager resigned this week following the DoJ report. The executive of St. Louis County said he met with Ferguson’s mayor about taking over policing of the town.
