Gerald “Jerry” DeLemus was sentenced on Wednesday to more than seven years in prison for his role in organizing armed backers of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy after a standoff with U.S. agents in 2014. He is the first person sentenced for the incident. DeLemus has been jailed for almost 16 months and plead guilty last August to conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S. as well as interstate travel in aid of extortion. In early 2016, DeLemus also said he had traveled to Oregon to join Ammon Bundy's occupation of a federal wildlife refuge. At the time, DeLemus was serving in the "Veterans for Trump" group in New Hampshire.
