Florida Teen Wins National Spelling Bee

Dev Shah, a 14-year-old from Florida, won the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday night, correctly spelling the word “psammophile.” “My legs are still shaking,” he said as he hoisted the trophy. Dev beat out Charlotte Walsh of Virginia who misspelled the word “daviely.”
