Paula Deen’s career may be as fried as her chicken. Food Network announced Friday that it will not renew the down-home cooking mogul’s contract when it expires at the end of this month. Deen, who has been a fixture at Food Network since 1999, came under fire this week when the transcript of her deposition in a harassment case filed by a former employee revealed that she has used the n-word in the past and once wanted to throw a “plantation-style” wedding. Ever indulgent, Deen released three videos Friday afternoon in which she apologized for offending anybody with her testimony and for standing up Matt Lauer Friday morning at the Today show.
