Former NSA and CIA director Gen. Michael Hayden has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke earlier this week, his family announced Friday. “He is receiving expert medical care for which the family is grateful,” his namesake center said in a statement.
The retired Air Force general, 73, has not experienced such issues before, said a family friend, who adds that Hayden is now beginning the recovery and rehabilitation process. Hayden criticized the Trump administration in his book , The Assault on Intelligence: American National Security in an Age of Lies. A CNN contributor, he was on air earlier this week, prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
