Former Gen. James Cartwright has been charged with making false statements during an investigation into the source of a leak on the U.S. cyberattacks on Iran's nuclear program. The Department of Justice opened an investigation into Cartwright, who served as the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for several years leading up to 2011 and a top advisor to President Obama. According to the AP, he allegedly lied to investigators, claiming he was not the source of classified information in David Sanger's book, Confront and Conceal. Cartwright, now 67, will appear in federal court on Monday afternoon.
