‘Fox & Friends’ Host Compares Foie Gras to Aborted Fetuses

SACRE BLEU

‘[O]ur lawmakers here in our state care more, it seems, about the geese, these birds, instead of the babies,’ Ainsley Earhardt said Tuesday morning.

Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt slammed New York City Democrats Tuesday for backing a ban on foie gras, arguing that if they care about the suffering of geese, they should also care about the suffering of unborn fetuses.

“A lot of conservatives, and, frankly, a lot of people in New York overall, are concerned about [the ban], because they say there’s not a protection for life when it comes to our babies,” Earhardt told New York City Councilman Joe Borelli.

Producing foie gras—a fattened goose liver pâté served in many upscale restaurants—often requires geese to be force fed with a metal tube until their liver swells to many times its natural size.

But Earhardt isn’t actually worried about that. Instead, she attacked New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s new Reproductive Health Act, which decriminalizes abortion and allows doctors to terminate a pregnancy in the third trimester if the health of the fetus or mother is at risk.

“New York just passed a law where you can have an abortion up until nine months—until the day of birth,” she told Borelli. “People have a problem with that because the council, our lawmakers here in our state care more, it seems, about the geese, these birds, instead of the babies.”

“You’re hitting the nail on the head,” Borelli responded. “It’s tough to see the logic in how Democrats want to protect these geese from any perceived problems during the fattening and any potential pain and suffering—but there’s almost a willful ignorance, if you will, of the pain and suffering that an unborn fetus might have.”

That wasn’t the only time Earhardt made the comparison. Minutes later, she joined former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in blasting Sen. Murray (D-WA) for blocking Sen. Sasse (R-NE)’s attempt to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act with unanimous consent. The bill, which was blocked Monday by Murray’s vote, attempted to outlaw infanticide—which, as Murray pointed out, is already illegal.

“I hope this bill goes to the Senate floor and every senator has to put his or her name on that bill and stand up and say ‘do you believe that this is okay, to kill full term babies?’ If you do, we all need to know it,” Huckabee said. “Because you have no place legislating for the rest of the country.”

“I know,” Earhardt agreed. “Coming from a party that protects the geese, the foie gras they’re worried about, the environment, and the minnows out in California, but they’re not worried about the babies.”
