Amid news of 49 people killed in an attack on mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand on Friday, Fox & Friends’ hosts zeroed in on the same subject they have all week: socialism.
Ainsley Earhardt, speaking of the suspected shooter’s manifesto, said: “He talks about socialism, left-wing, right-wing, birth rates, and he said he started planning this two years ago after the terror attack in Stockholm.”
In April 2017, five people were killed and 15 others injured, after a rejected asylum-seeker who was recruited by ISIS rampaged through the streets of Stockholm in a hijacked beer truck.

Earhardt continued: “That really set him off in 2017, and he says this was to avenge the deaths of his people. He wasn’t planning on doing this in New Zealand, until he visited some of the mosques in Christchurch and he says that there is a problem there, too. Basically, he says he doesn’t hate Muslims if they stay in their countries and they don’t ‘invade his land.’”
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday referred to the New Zealand mosque suspect as an “extremist, right-wing terrorist.”
In a posting on a far-fight forum on 8Chan, a document purported to be the suspect’s manifesto describes Muslims as “invaders,” claims that Muslim immigration would lead to “white genocide,” and refers to himself as a “kebab removalist.” Other references point to notorious white-supremacists Dylann Roof, the Charleston church shooter, and Anders Breivik, the Norwegian mass murderer who killed 77 in 2011 in a rampage set off by his hatred of immigration.
Shortly after that segment, the Friends crew got back to business, discussing socialism at length with Wall Street Journal Editorial Page Deputy Editor Dan Henninger, who this week penned a column entitled “Socialism? Yes, Be Very Afraid.”
