“Can the Democratic Party be for diversity, but also be against open borders, and not be so anti-white?” he said.

While attempting to map out contradictions within the Democratic party, Fox News host Jesse Watters accused Democrats of being “anti-white.” “When [Democrats] get into trouble is when they start demonizing and dividing,” Waters said. “Can the Democratic Party be for diversity, but also be against open borders, and not be so anti-white? So far, they haven’t been able to strike that balance.” Juan Williams later asked him to explain his assertion that Democrats are anti-white, and Watters walked back his statement. “No, I’m talking about—sometimes when you hear things about, ‘Oh, you want a border wall? Oh, you must hate Mexicans,’” he said. “That kind of positioning turns a lot of white working-class voters off.”
