According to Fox Nation star Tomi Lahren, it is common knowledge that regardless of the height of a border wall between Mexico and the United States, immigrants will continue to try to scale it because they are “shifty and adaptable.”
During one of her recent “First Thoughts” monologues on Fox Nation, Fox News’ streaming venture, the millennial conservative media star unleashed yet another one of her trademark rants against all things liberal. Taking aim at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for saying walls are immoral, Lahren claimed that the “pro-illegal immigration, anti-wall crowd” also argues that if you build a wall, “illegals will just find taller ladders.”
This led to Lahren telling “leftists” to listen to her conversation with a San Diego border patrol officer during her recent border visit in which she asked about using tall ladders to climb over walls.

In the clip, San Diego Sector Chief Rodney Scott said that using a 31-foot ladder to scale a wall gives border agents a chance to respond because of the time it takes to go up and down. He also said that the average human starts “getting a little queasy” when they climb higher than 18 feet.
“Bingo! Thank you, Chief Scott,” Lahren exclaimed after the clip played. “Yes, illegals are shifty and adaptable. If we finish a wall, they will still tunnel under and attempt to crawl over, but as Chief Scott pointed out, it takes a long time to climb a 30-foot barrier.”
She reiterated Scott’s assertion that border agents will be able to respond in time if immigrants have to scale a taller wall while further noting that President Trump has also never insisted that “walls are all we need.”
Lahren ended her commentary by insisting that any resistance to a large-scale border wall by Democrats was just about obstructing the president even though everything she just said about border security made “perfect sense.”
As for Lahren’s “shifty and adaptable” remarks about undocumented immigrants, this is hardly the first time she’s said something that could be viewed as openly xenophobic and racist. Last year, during a Fox News segment, she raged against immigrants, saying, “You don’t just come into this country with low skills, low education, not understanding the language and come into our country because someone says it makes them feel nice.”
