Kids must have wanted to mimic the weather when they went to the movies this weekend. Disney’s Frozen won the weekend box office six weeks after opening—a feat virtually unheard of—netting $52.5 million from overseas markets and $20.7 million domestically, which also pushed it past the $600 million mark worldwide. Frozen is now Disney’s second-most successful title of all time—after The Lion King—and it has reached No. 4 among original animated films. Second at the box office was Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, which brought in $18.2 million, but it still opened below the other Paranormal Activity films. The Hobbit finished third for the weekend with $16.3 million domestically, and The Wolf of Wall Street and American Hustle came in fourth and fifth, respectively.
