Gallerist Larry Gagosian is helping Abu Dhabi curate an instant art scene. Gagosian appeared on a panel at the Abu Dhabi Art Fair, offering tips about collecting and the forces driving the art market. The art fair is part of a government initiative to jump-start a local art market in the United Arab Emirates. It was successful in drawing big names such as Jeff Koons, Jean Nouvel, Francois Pinault, and Guggenheim director Richard Armstrong. Currently, three museums are under construction in Abu Dhabi and will soon need art to fill up its walls.
