According to a Los Angeles coroner's report released Tuesday, comedian Garry Shandling died this past March of a blood clot that traveled from his legs up to his heart. At the time of his death, which in an autopsy report was categorized as both an "accident" and "natural" with no suspicion of "foul play," the 66-year-old Shandling had Xanax and a combination of prescriptions opiates in his system to alleviate pain from a recent dental surgery. The day before he called 911 and was rushed to the hospital, Shandling complained to a friend about "leg pain and shortness of breath."
