George Mason University's Board of Visitors voted Thursday afternoon to rename its law school after late Supreme Court Justice Atonin Scalia. The move came after the school received two donations totaling $30 million to support the GMU School of Law. The new official name will be the Antonin Scalia School of Law at George Mason University, or, the Scalia Law School for short. The combined donation will be used to establish three new scholarship programs to be awarded by the university, including a Scalia scholarship awarded to students with excellent academic records. Justice Scalia passed away in February while on vacation in Texas.
